Sometimes the question of life comes to mind.
Or rather what constitutes life actually. In the turmoil of most things, in this fragile existence, we call our 'human life'; we find that we have but a glimmer, barely a flicker of a spark of time through which to examine our very nature.
When all considerations are done we experience a mere moment of the tale of our universe and yet attempt to posit, in those moments, much like I am attempting right now, some meaning to this existence.
But the question still gets raised. What is life?
For most, and by that I mean, the people who are interested in defining and labeling in our world; the concept of life is defined by the following definition.
"The condition that distinguishes animals and plants from inorganic matter, including the capacity for growth, reproduction, functional activity, and continual change preceding death."
So in this it is summised that Life is the condition of animated observable behaviour. Properties that differentiate organic and inorganic life. However, I do not find myself particularly reliant on this definition.
Is it not true that all matter is condensed energy? That the visible universe is all merely made out of different variations of the same building blocks. Protons, neutrons and electrons. And as we fall down the rabbit hole of smaller and smaller discoveries, either finding quantum component or vibrating strings, we find that the smaller we go, the more everything is made of the same.
Now if I may show you something... take a moment after you have read this to imagine the following. Picture the Macro Universe expressed through the Micro Universes properties.
It would be just a giant canvas.
An empty canvas of interacting energy.
When you view the Universe in this way it brings an amazing scope to reality. Because organic and inorganic do not matter anymore. All of it is interacting variations of the same stuff. This blank canvas of a universe, interacting with itself and creating in those interactions, expressions.
All things visible in our universe, even those things not yet discovered are all expressions. Expressions of existence. Expressions of being.
The canvas then is not empty but full. Full of planets and suns and rocks. Full of rules and laws and mysteries and phenomena. Full of life.
Life is not something that separates organic and inorganic objects. Its the things that unites us. We are all expressions of life. Whether compound or element or wave or organism. We are all the living expression of life.
We are not one, we are many. Interconnected, interactive, indomitable and ingenious.
